We are very much looking forward to welcoming Ali Ferguson to Fenham for this two day course on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th March 2022. The cost will be £120 per person which includes all of the materials (but you may wish to bring some of your own bits and pieces to make it more personal), refreshments throughout the day and a light lunch. On-site accommodation is available. For further information or to book your place please email Gill Curry email@example.com
Join Ali Ferguson for two lovely days of ‘slow stitching’, nostalgia and sharing stories.
Using an old woollen blanket as a starting point you will create a gorgeous ‘Cloth Collage’ from fabrics old & new. You can add vintage papers & stitched table linens, lace, pattern paper and old haberdashery items such as tape measures, buttons and hooks & eyes. You’ll also use fabric printed with lovely handwritten text from old school notes.
Ali will share her relaxed approach to creating a gorgeously scrappy collage where fabrics are ripped and layered, printed words are highlighted, and personal words are hand stitched.
On day two you’ll immerse yourself in the lovely process of slow hand-stitching. Don’t worry if you’re not an experienced stitcher; running stitch and cross-stitch are all you really need but you can be more adventurous if you wish.
